THE EARLY YEARS

Most children grow out of their “drawing on the wall phase,”

Tom Kiewra didn’t. That was just the beginning. Growing up, Kiewra spent much of his time outside on the streets, where graffiti culture became both an escape and a form of expression. He started tagging school desks and home walls at a young age, picking up his first spray can at twelve. What started as a simple fascination quickly grew into an obsession.

After being expelled from art school, that same drive pushed him in a new direction. Kiewra went on to study graphic design in both the Netherlands and New York City, deepening his understanding of typography, color, and visual communication. That mix of design thinking and graffiti instinct would later become a defining element of his work.
